Plenty of CBSNewYork’s Facebook fans reacted to the news soon after it broke Friday. Most of them responded with the obligatory “Who cares?,” “Couldn’t care less,” and of course “Big whoop.”

However, other opinions ranged from surprise to sarcasm to even genuine happiness for the couple who have six children together, including three who are adopted.
“Fantastic,” said Jo Cotroneo. “This should be great news for the children. It is always nice to have your parents married to each other.”
“Maybe Angelina is actually adopting Brad!!” joked Melanie Studell McKay.
Pitt’s manager, Cynthia Pett-Dante, confirmed the news to The Associated Press in an e-mail Friday. The engagement “is a promise for the future,” Pett-Dante said.
