The two institutions could be met under one roof

Accompanying measures for the recovery, preparation of the Copenhagen Summit, negotiations with Brussels in the Opel case, appointment of the next German Commissioner: as many folders in the coming weeks. In the most urgent cases, this will be the acting Government of the grand coalition which will have to decide, even before the new cabinet.

Among the most urgent issues:

Recovery, out of crisis and deficits: the Germany is out of the recession in the second quarter and GDP should again grow in the third. The Government must accompany with fingering this resumption, potentially handicapped by a rise in unemployment and a shortage of credit. If the recovery is confirmed, it will also begin to organise the withdrawal of support to economic instruments put in place for a year, but at the right pace.

Climate: still two months to the Government to prepare for the Copenhagen Summit on climate change. Chancellor Merkel said before flying to Pittsburgh: "We are not at all satisfied with the status" of the preparatory discussions.

Opel: Berlin must prepare to respond to critics of Neelie Kroes, European Commissioner for competition, the manufacturer's rescue plan. Berlin has promised State aid in exchange for promises of German sites backup, at the expense of the other European factories.

Yet, seven regional banks "continue to constitute major systemic risk for the German financial market", according to the Minister of finance.

Afghanistan: when the population is largely opposed to the presence of the Bundeswehr, should the Government likely present a framework for the withdrawal of German forces.

Reform of social protection: while the population is aging rapidly and decreases each year, the country will have to undertake major structural reforms.

Training: Advanced OECD annually the gaps of the educational system, which selects young people too soon, and does not have enough engineers, essential to the exporting model form.
